Veronica Uribe is a Petroleum Engineer with twelve-years experience in the Oil & Gas industry in Colombia and a Master in Sustainable Energy Futures.

Raised in a rural village, she was involved in sustainability campaigns as part of her community volunteer stewardship role as a youth leader. Then, after receiving a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, she worked for BP and Equión Energía developing production incremental projects.

Working in the fossil energy industry, she realized about the Colombian energy challenges. This awareness along with her youth memories led to pursue a master in Sustainable Energy Futures at Imperial College London. Veronica’s research project focused on energy resilience optimization and sustainability evaluation of energy supply with Life Cycle Assessment. The case study was Colombia as couldn’t be different.

Veronica found in Ecotropics the ideal organization to transform her passion about sustainability and resilience in tangible actions for the common and greater good.
